The Morning Routines of the Rich vs. the Poor: A Comparative Analysis

April 05, 2023

Introduction:

Every person has their own set of habits and routines that they follow in their daily lives. These routines are indicative of their current and future financial situation. While the majority of people are stuck in a poverty or lack mindset, the rich have built their success and wealth over time by following certain principles. In this article, we will take a look at the daily routines of the rich and compare them with what the poor do.

Attitude:

Most people with average income tend to view mornings with a lot of pessimism. Snoozing the alarm button more times than necessary is a common occurrence. However, this habit makes it harder to wake up in the morning, and people end up wasting precious time. The poor often see mornings as just another day to fight for survival and consider snoozing more appealing.

In contrast, the rich don't have alarms because they are heavy sleepers who need to be shocked awake, but rather to keep track of time and attend to their duties. They run a mental evaluation of what lies ahead and how to accomplish their goals. A new day means a new set of opportunities to grow their wealth.

Strategizing and Planning:

Poor people are often stuck in the loop of doing the same thing every single day without any planning or strategizing about what more can be done. They may have huge dreams they wish to achieve but that’s all they are, dreams. Whichever direction the day takes them in, they’ll fall into it as opposed to directing the day themselves. On the other hand, the rich take charge of structuring their own days and stick to it. Morning routines are a form of structure.

However, there are unpleasant consequences to working towards one's dreams too, and this is why most people procrastinate in achieving their goals. The consequence isn't stressful enough to motivate them to take action. As humans, we do everything for one of two reasons: to avoid or solve pain, or to gain pleasure. Solving pain, or avoiding pain, is far more motivating than gaining pleasure. This is why salespeople always try to push a problem before asking you to buy. They do this by asking you a question or stating something relatable.

If you want to become properly motivated, you have to work on it. Motivation doesn't just happen; it is something you have to create for yourself. There are several ways to get motivated, such as finding a mentor, focusing on the end goal, celebrating small successes, and breaking down big goals into smaller, achievable ones.

Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates are examples of individuals who take charge of structuring their own days. Gates starts his day with exercise and then goes on to thoroughly break down and analyze all the tasks he has to do in a given day. He also takes an hour each day to teach himself something new, whether it's a skill or simply learning new information.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, it's evident that the rich and poor have different mentalities and habits that set them apart from each other. The rich have consistent habits and routines that help them grow their wealth over time. In contrast, the poor tend to do the same things every day without any planning or strategizing, which keeps them trapped in poverty.

Developing a morning routine that includes planning and strategizing can be a crucial first step towards financial success. It's important to take small steps towards personal growth and eventually take charge of bigger things in life. By following the morning routines of the rich, anyone can set themselves on the path towards success
