If you are switching from android to iPhone, you might be wondering, is it possible to download WhatsApp backup to it from google drive? After all, google drive service is available on both platforms. You can find the backup files in the google drive app on your Android phone. However, you can’t seem to find them in the iPhone. No worries, there’s still a way to pull it off. In this video, I’ll share the entire process with you guys. Let’s dive in!
Step 1, download WhatsApp backup from google drive to your Android phone,
First, uninstall WhatsApp, make sure not to keep any existing data. Then reinstall WhatsApp from play store. Now open WhatsApp, verify your phone number. And then tap continue to allow WhatsApp access to your contacts, photos, and etc. When prompted, tap restore to restore your chats and media from Google Drive. Now you can see all your chats on your android phone.
Step 2, back up WhatsApp to the local disk. To do this, head to settings, chats, chat backup, make sure Back up to google drive is set to never. Then go ahead and create a local backup.
Well done, now you are ready to start the transfer. The tool we are using here is iCareFone Transfer, Once open it, go to the WhatsApp tab, Connect the Android phone first, Enable USB-debugging if prompted. Then connect your iPhone, Trust this computer if prompted. Now click transfer to begin. The only thing it overwrites is the WhatsApp data on your iPhone, everything else will stay intact during the process. So, let’s continue. Here we get the instructions to create a local backup. We’ve done that already, so let’s just select it to proceed. Verify the WhatsApp account with encryption key or phone number. Here you can select the data types you want to transfer. Let's just select all of them to continue. Now we are going to log into WhatsApp on the iPhone. S
kip restore from iCloud. There’s not data moved over yet. Let’s get back to iCareFone and click logged in to complete the last step. Your iPhone will restart. Well done, let’s go ahead and check it out! See, all you WhatsApp chats have been migrated to the iPhone. Including your contacts, text messages and attachments.
